The CrossCare 2.0 program supports innovations in the Flemish and Dutch healthcare and welfare sector. CrossCare 2.0 operates through various call rounds, during which organizations can apply for financial and substantive support.
The second call round ('WAVE II') has been open since March 12, 2024:
Call for 'Business Trajectories' – This call focuses exclusively on SMEs (Small and Medium-sized Enterprises). A Flemish or Dutch SME developing a healthcare innovation (= product, service, or process concept) can submit an innovation proposal in this second call. Healthcare living labs on both sides of the border coach, support, and stimulate the selected company developers and demonstrate, test, and/or evaluate their innovations with end users. The selected companies can additionally count on a subsidy amount of up to a maximum of 100,000 EUR.
Beneficiaries of CrossCare 2.0 are enterprises and healthcare and welfare organizations with legal personality and with at least one establishment in the program area of the Flemish-Dutch Border Region*. NB. Applicants located outside the border region may exceptionally and only participate with sufficient justification and after explicit approval by the CrossCare steering group.
For business trajectories, only SMEs (Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) are eligible. Typically, this always involves one individual SME. Therefore, in each CrossCare innovation trajectory, at least one Flemish or Dutch SME must be active as a partner.
De oproep ‘Bedrijfstrajecten’ werkt in 2 stappen. Deadline voor de korte/voor- aanmeldingen (FASE I) is 23 april 2024. Een gedetailleerd stappenplan vind je hieronder:
Approved trajectories in this WAVE will start on October 1, 2024. More information (subsidy regulations, application form, ...) can be found at: downloads.
On Tuesday, March 26, 2024, from 15:30 to 17:00, there will be a general online information session to learn more. Registration can be done via this link.
For any questions, you can also contact one of the healthcare living labs (contact) or Glenn Weyers, coordinator of the CrossCare project, via glenn.weyers@thomasmore.be.

In Flanders, these are the provinces of Antwerp, Limburg, East Flanders, Flemish Brabant (only the Leuven arrondissement), and West Flanders (excluding the Veurne and Ypres arrondissements). On the Dutch side, the area consists of the provinces of Limburg, North Brabant, and Zeeland.*
