Written by Eindhovens Dagblad

With energy prices going through the roof, Eindhoven residents who are already not very well off find themselves in dire financial straits. However, many of them have not yet applied for the energy contribution from the state and the municipality. The municipality of Eindhoven and social partners in the city are now making efforts to reach this group.

Residents with an income up to 120 percent of the social minimum are entitled to the energy allowance. From the state they receive 1,300 euros and from the municipality another 530 euros. If they have already applied for a participation contribution from the municipality, they will receive the allowances automatically. According to the municipality, there are an estimated 4,000 residents who are entitled but have not applied for anything.

Help from volunteers

For example, because they do not know or find the application too complicated. Therefore, the partner fund Brainport Eindhoven and Samen voor Eindhoven are now organizing a number of walk-in consultations under the name "Money Guide Weeks" where entitled people can apply for help. Between November 29 and December 15, they can report to three locations in the city for support by volunteers from Brainport companies.

In the Bennekel, the walk-in consultations are at Lassusstraat 15, where interested parties can come on Nov. 29 and Dec. 6 or 13. In Vaartbroek at Tarwelaan 54, the consultation hours are on December 1, 8 and 15, and also at Rooijakkerstraat 3 on De Hurk people can come on December 6 or 13. In all cases, the consultation hours are from 2 to 4 p.m.
