5. Togo All Stars - A musical journey through West Africa
Togo All Stars takes you on a musical journey through West Africa with music from Lomé, the capital of Togo and Ghana's Accra, where highlife originated in the 1950s. The influences of Cotonou, birthplace of the renowned Orchestre Poly Rythmo and Lagos, where Fela Kuti created his afrobeat, are also reflected in the music. On Jan. 29, they bring their signature Togolese sound drenched in afrodunk and voodoo rhythms to the Effenaar.
