TAC's impact on art, creativity and housing shortage

TAC is more than a cultural breeding ground; it is a pioneer in combining art and urban development. Since 1999, TAC has been working on a model in which real estate does not compete with culture, but rather supports it. The aim of this innovative concept has always been a combination of affordable studios for artists of various disciplines, a cultural breeding ground with catering, exhibitions, projects and events, as well as general affordable housing. This makes for a unique place in Eindhoven.

With the construction of 249 affordable homes (85% social, 15% medium-rent), TAC will make a direct contribution to reducing the housing shortage in Eindhoven. At the same time, it will remain a haven for autonomous art, where makers are given room to experiment.

Since its foundation, TAC has developed into a unique system in which studios, exhibition spaces, catering and living space come together. This cross-pollination between disciplines and functions blurs the boundaries between artist, public and entrepreneur, leading to a vibrant and dynamic art scene. Thanks to international collaborations and a continued focus on artistic development, TAC remains not only an artistic engine of Eindhoven and (far) beyond, but also a leading example of how art and real estate can reinforce each other.
