Under the heading Project Beethoven, the national government, the province and the region will invest 2.51 billion euros in public facilities in Brainport Eindhoven and the surrounding area and in a national talent plan to ensure sufficient talent in the microchip industry until 2030. This was decided by the Council of Ministers on 28 March 2024. This is a step towards managing the expected growth of the Brainport Eindhoven region, maintaining the business climate in Brabant and improving the quality of life. It will strengthen the growth of the microchip sector in the Netherlands and accommodate the centre of gravity of this growth in the Brainport region.

Remain internationally competitive in the microchip industry

The agreements have laid the foundation for a long-term collaboration between the government and the Brainport region to keep the region internationally competitive in the microchip sector. This will be done by investing in talent, infrastructure, housing and energy facilities, so that Brainport Eindhoven can continue to grow as a leading technological centre in Europe. The infographic below provides a good overview of the measures as a whole. You can read more in this press release: Investment of 2.5 billion in Brainport Eindhoven.
