Social innovation in Brainport
Brainport is at the forefront of technological innovation. These technological applications can also advance social organisations. The same applies vice versa: civil society organisations can inspire employers to give new content to social employership and entrepreneurship. The cooperation is therefore reciprocal. Brainport voor Elkaar shares succesful cases, stimulates cooperation and connects parties.
In 2024, Brainport voor Elkaar linked a number of companies to social initiatives. Below you can see the best examples from 2024:
Bright Cape and Lumens
Bright Cape developed a dashboard for Lumens to measure social impact. Bright Cape's data expertise is more than welcome at Lumens. And vice versa, Lumens helps Bright Cape to give new content to their social employership. Moreover, it provides a challenge, because how do you actually measure social impact?

Paul Veendrick, managing director at Bright Cape: 'Our data consultants find this social issue immensly interesting. It encourages them to challenge themselves by using their knowledge of data in this way.'
That this collaboration will benifit Lumens a lot is obvious. Yet the impact of this project could be much bigger. 'Every social organisation struggles with this issue,' said Lumens director Jacqueline Vonk. Really, everyone. So don't underestimate the value of this collaboration. The whole non-profit sector is going too learn from this project.'

Zorgmed joined Brainport voor Elkaar on the line because of a rising staff shortage. Here, Zorgmed indicated that the attractiveness of working in home and maternity care and planning efficiency were the biggest challenges. This is why we linked them to Datacation. They help organisations work data-driven and wanted to support Zorgmed with this too.

Meanwhile, Datacation is exploring for Zorgmed how data and AI can be used to increase job happiness. In this way, healthcare demand and supply are better aligned. For this research, they are looking at current processes and challenges and mapping what a, possibly new, system should meet.
Hanneke Hermkens of Zorgmed on the cooperation: 'Impressive and very valuable. It is already delivering so much in terms of mindset. The match made by Brainport voor Elkaar is really of added value, we hadn't thought of this ourselves yet. You know that AI exists, but for us it is still a long way off'.
Jasper and Feline form Datacation are also enthousiastic: 'Very nice cooperation! Nice to do a project from a social point of view, which is a different approach after all. Wher normally the focus is mainly on a business case, we are now working on a social goal and making an impact this way. That is a nice addition to this cooperation.'
