Filing your tax return can be complicated and time-consuming. Visit one of our locations during National Tax Return Day on 14 March 2026 and get free help with filing your tax return.
What is National Tax Return Day?
Tax Return Day is a day on which you can get free help with completing your tax return. Many people find completing their tax return difficult or stressful. Perhaps you don't know where to start, you're not sure if you're doing it right, or you'd like someone to check it over for you. On Saturday 14 March, you can visit various locations in the region for free help with completing your income tax return.
What can you expect when you visit?
When you arrive at a location, you will be welcomed by a member of staff or volunteer. They will explain the process to you and help you complete your tax return. Some locations operate on a walk-in basis, while others work by appointment. The location overview at the bottom of the page indicates how each location operates.
There is one financial condition: the income and assets per household may not exceed the average income of €48,500.
What should you bring with you?
You must bring all of the following with you on tax return day:
1. DigiD details*
2. Passport or identity card
3. Annual statements (work, income and benefits)
4. Overview of other income (alimony, volunteer work)
- For alimony: information from the alimony provider or recipient
- If you own your home: last year's WOZ decision and overview of mortgage interest and costs paid
5. Bank details (bank accounts and savings accounts)
6. Overview of specific healthcare costs that are not reimbursed
7. Last year's tax return, if you have it
8. Overview of study/training expenses
9. Overview of charitable donations
10. Overview of maintenance payments made
