Entrepreneurs share power and future: energy hub Kempisch Bedrijvenpark officially launched

At the Kempisch Bedrijvenpark, the energy hub was officially inaugurated today. An important milestone that came about thanks to close cooperation between Bladel municipality, entrepreneurs and partners. Five companies will now share their energy in a smart way. This way, peaks in power consumption are better absorbed, sustainably generated energy is better utilised and the pressure on the overloaded electricity grid is reduced. This makes the business park one of the first in Brabant with a fully operational energy hub.
From bottlenecks to opportunities
In recent years, entrepreneurs on the business park ran into limits. New companies could not establish themselves and expansion plans came to a standstill. Even locally generated solar energy could not always be used. Thanks to the energy hub, there is perspective again. The initiative shows what is possible when the municipality, companies and technical partners join forces.
Energy sharing through smart technology
Five companies are now sharing their energy with each other: ATD Machinery, VGI Groep, Willems Baling Equipment, VDL Fibertech and The Schippers Group. Via the energy management system of technology company Tibo Energy, they can coordinate their energy consumption and generation. This prevents peak loads and optimises the use of available grid capacity. ‘Smart steering is where the real profit lies,’ says Remco Eikhout, CEO of Tibo Energy. "By better matching consumption, generation and grid capacity, space is created on the existing grid, without physical expansion. That's exactly what our technology is built for." With this collaboration, the five entrepreneurs are also building an innovative system that will make them step by step less dependent on the regular energy supply.
Well prepared for tomorrow's energy demand
In addition, the technology behind the system is ready for further growth: there will be battery storage for energy and, in the future, integration of wind energy is possible. This approach is in line with Bladel municipality's ambition to actually use locally generated energy locally. Councillor Hetty van der Hamsvoort calls the energy hub a fine example of how cooperation can lead to innovative and future-proof solutions: "Even in times of grid congestion, it is possible to keep thinking and acting ahead. The energy hub is not only a technical solution, but also a great example of local ownership and cooperation."
Since the commissioning of the energy hub, companies are making better use of their grid capacity and solar panels are again structurally returning sustainable energy. This gives entrepreneurs more room to plan production properly and business premises without grid connection can still be built. The ambition is to connect even more companies in the coming period and to continue building together on a sustainable, future-proof energy supply at the Kempisch Bedrijvenpark.
