Italian delegation impressed by innovative teaching methods in Brainport region
- Education
- International talent
The world around us is changing at lightning speed—perhaps even faster in the Brainport region than elsewhere. In this region, education professionals, therefore, prepare pupils and students for a future in which technology, entrepreneurship, creativity, and internationalisation are indispensable.
This requires the efforts of education professionals. Fortunately, they are not alone. They can rely on a powerful Brainport network. In it, the government, regional industry, and educational institutions actively cooperate. The goal? To offer pupils and students the chance to discover their talents at an early stage and to experience how we work together in Brainport Eindhoven.
Brainport Development supports childcare facilities and schools in primary education, secondary education, and senior secondary vocational education, shaping innovative, talent-oriented, and creative education in an international context. We do so, among other things, by sharing knowledge, initiating various activities and promoting a broad network.
Finding and retaining technical talent is one of the Brainport region's biggest challenges. Business activity is growing, as is the number of vacancies. By drawing extra attention to the tech and IT industry in education, the number of young people who will eventually choose to work in those fields will increase. Various organisations in the Brainport region, in close cooperation with regional industry, knowledge, and educational institutions, are therefore initiating, organising, and facilitating dozens of activities, (guest) lessons, and events.
See the overview in DutchThe Brainport region is becoming increasingly international, which affects education. Through the Internationalisation of Education programme, Brainport Development supports childcare, primary education, secondary education, and senior secondary vocational education.
An important part of this programme is investing in teachers' international skills as they play a key role in shaping internationally oriented education.
The Insidr platform was developed to help internationals and education professionals find suitable education for children. Insidr bundles all information on the Dutch education system conveniently in one place.

The Brainport for Education platform clearly maps the wide and varied supply in the region. This way, we help education professionals and schools make targeted and conscious choices. Brainport Development, together with partners from the field, developed the platform.
To the Brainport for Education Platform (in Dutch)Education and business in the Brainport region easily know how to find each other, leading to various initiatives and activities. A good example is hybrid teachers, who are active in education alongside their regular jobs. Another example is companies opening their doors to pupils and students. They give excursions and workshops and develop lesson plans together with the educational system. Brainport Development facilitates and initiates these initiatives to provide better education to the future pioneers in the region.
Brainport Development regularly releases publications for education professionals. In addition to our digital education newsletter, we distribute a physical education magazine, the Pioneer, twice a year. We also publish white papers containing up-to-date information, new developments, and practical experiences.
This teaching material is suitable for primary and secondary schools and can largely be used independently. (In Dutch)
