Attracting and retaining (tech and IT) talent is essential for the success of companies in the Brainport region. Fortunately, various parties can help you with this. Brainport for SMEs also offers help through various programmes, initiatives and advice. Thanks to our extensive network, employers can make use of knowledge and tools to find and keep talent.

Attracting and retaining tech and IT talent is hugely important for the Brainport region. To help you with this, you can contact any of these parties:

Education

Are you looking for an intern, graduate, or starter? Check out the Mobo, HBO, and Wo institutes in the region. Read more at Enthuse future talent.

Government

The Brainport region has two regional work centres: Werkcentrum Helmond-De Peel and Huis naar Werk. These are regional network organisations in which various partners offer their services related to work, personnel, training, and development from a single point of contact. Therefore, these are the places where residents and employers can get answers to their questions.

Brainport Development

Brainport Development pools information and has an extensive network working in attracting and retaining national talent. Contact: Richard Kerste, r.kerste@brainportdevelopment.nl.

Commercial service providers

There are also many commercial service providers you can use to solve your labour market issue. Consult the internet for this.

Retraining

Looking at talent differently will be an important starting point in the coming years. This can be done by retraining talents, job seekers, and/or benefit recipients. If you can look and think differently, be sure to meet motivated talent. The regional work centres (see above) will be happy to help!

A different perspective on work

The current labour market requires a different approach to talent. The traditional CV is increasingly giving way to a focus on a person's competencies and skills. Moreover, 'lifelong development' is becoming increasingly important for companies that want to keep their employees interested and committed. This means that employers not only look at a candidate's current potential but also at how they can support them in further growth and development.

Attracting international talent

If you cannot fill your vacancies, attracting international employees may offer a solution. Thanks to the (cultural) diversity you bring, you also contribute to your company's innovative power.

Brainport for Development helps employers attract, retain and cooperate with international talent. But we do so accurately. Thanks to data, we increasingly know what the identity of our Brainport region is and which skills we lack. And we also know where talents with those skills are to be found. Together with employers, we use these data to promote Brainport abroad through our brand story. In addition, the region is committed to retaining international talent, for instance, by increasing the stay rate of international students and employees.
