Lightyear works with Appical for the onboarding of new employees. Can you tell me what Appical is?
Appical is an online onboarding platform that offers companies, such as ours, the opportunity to give new employees insight in all the ins and outs of the company in an informal way before and during the first working days!

Why does Lightyear use the app?
Lightyear strongly believes in the strength of its employees, also called: A-players. We are convinced that a lot of profit can be gained by giving them a good start. In this Appical offers a lot of support. Appical offers us the opportunity to prepare new A-players for the work here and offers information that varies from how the printers work to the history of Lightyear and the Friday afternoon drinks.

How does Lightyear use the app specifically for international employees?
We are very proud of the diversity within our team and think it is very important to stimulate this by offering as much help as possible to our A-players. It is precisely the international employees who need it. This is because they do not only want to know how Lightyear works but also what kind of things, they need to arrange in order to get a work permit and bank account, for example. We have created a 'A-players moving to Holland' course to help these international employees to settle here step by step and ensure that they are completely ready when they start!

Would you recommend Appical to other companies that work with international employees (and why)?
Appical is a good platform to inform (inter) national employees and to make them enthusiastic about everything that takes place within Lightyear. For us this is super important because we are growing at a rapid pace and new things and changes occur every week. Appical offers us the opportunity to respond quickly to these changes in a flexible manner and facilitates a personal and extended onboarding for our employees. Appical is highly recommended for companies with (inter) national employees, large or small.
