In this series, we speak to PSV fans from across the Brainport Region.
Hi Britt, what do you think makes a real fan?
For me, being a fan goes hand in hand with genuine sociability. I used to be a member of the Phoxy club and we used to watch the games with the whole family. We still do that - she says enthusiastically - then we get all kinds of yummy things and then watch the match. A real fan keeps following PSV, even when they are behind.
Are you also proud of Nuenen?
It's 'everybody knows everybody' here, and that's very cosy. I also like the fact that it's close to Eindhoven, which is a very nice city. And there are also good connections with between the both. Nuenen itself also has a very nice atmosphere, I'm proud of that!
You don't find something like this in the rest of the country!
On the PSV shirt it says 'Brainport Eindhoven', what do you think of when you read that?
Of the airport, because when I came back from the airport on holiday there was a very big poster of Brainport Eindhoven with PSV on it. And it's PSV's sponsor, of course. So for me, Brainport Eindhoven is part of PSV.
What makes the region special?
Eindhoven is a creative city, a lot of fashion and people who make very special things. Dutch Design Week is an example of that. And Brabant is also just very cosy and nice. I'm proud of Brabant, because we are actually quite down-to-earth, but still very cosy. You won't find anything like that in the North of the country, I think.
Thank you Britt
