CCAM Proving Region
As road safety, emission reduction and accessibility become increasingly urgent, the large-scale rollout of automated transport is lagging behind. The technology is still maturing, regulations are fragmented, and there is a lack of realistic environments to test new solutions. The CCAM Proving Region – between Helmond in the Netherlands and Lommel in Belgium – fills that gap. In this cross-border, independent test region, companies, governments and knowledge institutions work together to bring smart mobility innovations to the road faster.

Cross-border mobility innovation
The CCAM Proving Region is developing a cross-border test and knowledge center for Cooperative, Connected and Automated Mobility (CCAM). In this unique environment, governments, companies and knowledge institutions work together to test, validate and scale smart mobility solutions – from simulation and proving grounds to public roads. By connecting infrastructure, telecom and C-ITS systems across borders, a realistic and accessible testing environment is created. This accelerates the European transition to a safer, cleaner and smarter mobility system
