Building an inclusive labour market together

Everyone deserves the chance of a secure life. Work and education are an important basis for this. Despite the economic growth in our region, there are still people who need support in finding a suitable learning or working place. Brainport voor Elkaar is commited to working together with employers on untapped talent with initiatives such as Open Hiring, where motivation is more important than a CV, and Buddy Werkt, where over -50s are paired with experienced professionals.

Open Hiring: a job without an interview

Unused labour potential in the Brainport region is around 33,000 people, according to the latest surveys. And that while many employers are eager for people. Are you too?

It can be done differently! Research shows that a large part of the unused labour potential is perfectly capable and willing to work, but excludes itself from the labour market. Prejudices in application procedures, vacancy texts that scare off and do not match the language of jobseekers, recruitment channels that do not reach certain groups of jobseekers...

With Open Hiring, we take a different approach. It is all about whether someone wants to and can work. Letters of application and interviews are a thing of the past. This gives no chance for (pre-) judgements. And people who are often (unconsciously) excluded do. Jobseekers decide for themselves whether they are suitable for the job. And this approach works.

Brainport Employment Plan

Everyone a chance at a good workplace; that is what we want to contribute to with the Brainport Employment Plan. Together with employers, we will make sure that the solidified images of certain target groups are set in motion again. That we think in terms of opportunities and see what is possible. Because everyone deserves a chance. Would you like to participate in thinking about social employership and employment in the region? Then contact programme manager Anja Willems.

Get back to work faster with Buddy Works

Getting back to work faster; that is the aim of 'Buddy Werkt'. With this programme, we link job-seeking people over 50 to a buddy (a CEO, manager or director) who thinks along with them and makes his or her network available. 'Buddy Werkt' is an initiative of the UWV, Ergon and a number of municipalities in the region. Brainport voor Elkaar would like to further roll out this great initiative in the region.
