Activities & projects for startups and SMEs

Strengthening MedTech SMEs
Brainport Development undertakes initiatives that strengthen the region economically and accelerate innovations. Specifically for Medtech, our task is to strengthen the position, innovative strength and earning power of the MedTech industry. We do this by, among other things:
- Testing ideas, drafting a business plan or helping with funding. The MedTech market brings specific questions and challenges. Business developers are happy to help you on your way and know suitable parties, such as the Brabant Start up Fund.
- Bridging the gap between entrepreneurs and hospitals, care institutions, health insurers, etc. Would you, for instance, like to pitch your business idea to hospitals in the region? Then get in touch and sign up for one of the sessions or take part in the cross-border project Crosscare 2.0 where companies can make use of care trial gardens across the border and a fund to support innovation projects.
- Projects and initiatives on crossovers to technologies, such as for example the crossover between Artificial Intelligence and MedTech for SMEs. Companies can also be guided on digitalisation issues.
- Increasing the market for MedTech companies through joint international marketing.
- Community building & positioning Brainport as a MedTech hub.

Project CrossCare 2.0
The CrossCare 2.0 project supports and facilitates the development of innovations in the Flemish and Dutch care and welfare sectors. Companies and/or care organisations that want to develop a care innovation can submit an innovation proposal during several CrossCare 2.0 call rounds (“waves”). Care Living Labs on both sides of the border then support and encourage the selected companies-developers and test/evaluate/demonstrate their innovation with end-users. At the same time, the selected organisations can also count on financial support from an innovation fund.

Innovation Meets Hospital
Innovation Meets Hospital is an initiative of The Gate, in which medtech startups present their innovations directly to hospitals in the region. Startups get the chance to present their solution to innovation experts from Catharina Hospital, MMC and Elkerliek, among others. The aim is to reduce the gap between technology and clinical practice, and accelerate the implementation of healthcare innovations. The sessions provide immediate feedback and opportunities for collaboration, within Brainport Eindhoven's innovative ecosystem.
The next sessions will take place on:
