Team T.E.S.T.
Team T.E.S.T. is a student team from the Eindhoven University of Technology that develops biosensors for healthcare applications. Each year, we take part in the international SensUs competition, where student teams design and build a sensor for a specific health-related biomarker. The goal of the competition is to bring together technology, healthcare, and entrepreneurship, and our team works on all three aspects.
Our main focus is to create practical and reliable biosensors. These are small devices that can measure important molecules in the body, which can indicate a disfunction of a certain biological process. By working on these challenges, we aim to contribute to better and more accessible healthcare solutions.
The team is made up of students from different educational backgrounds. This diversity allows us to divide our work into different areas:
- The assay team, which works in the lab on the chemistry behind the sensor.
- The detection team, which focuses on hardware, coding, and data readout.
- The translational potential team, which looks at how the product could fit into the healthcare market.
Besides the technical work, we also organize tasks such as public relations, finance, and partnerships. This means that being part of Team T.E.S.T. is not only about research and engineering, but also about teamwork, organization, and communication.
What motivates us is the idea that our work can make a real difference. Every year, we start with only an idea and gradually build it into a working prototype. Along the way, we learn how to solve problems, collaborate across disciplines, and bring science closer to society.
In short, Team T.E.S.T. gives students the chance to learn, to innovate, and to work on solutions that may one day improve people’s health.
