The Brainport region is buzzing with ideas, people and languages. More and more people from all over the world are living and working here. But feeling truly at home in a new country doesn't happen automatically. Language helps with that. Because if you speak the language of the place where you live, you understand each other better and you fit in more quickly!
The Brainport Eindhoven & PSV partnership is launching the campaign “Share the language of our home”. In this campaign, we are sharing the word “houdoe” with the world. It is a simple word from Brabant, but one that embodies our collective strength. We invite everyone to join in: have a chat in Dutch, or just dare to give it a try. Even a short conversation can mean a lot. It makes our region feel more and more like home for everyone.

Would you like to do something to promote greater connection in the region? Here you will find initiatives you can get involved in right away – from language cafés to creative projects. Small steps, big impact: together we speak the language of our home.
Language support in the neighbourhood
Would you like to improve your Dutch so you can talk to your neighbours, at school or at work? Volunteers will help you practise for six months or longer!
Language café in the Library
Would you like to improve your Dutch speaking skills? At the Language Café, you can chat with other people about everyday topics such as work or school.
Language buddy via Taalpunt040
Need to improve your Dutch reading, writing, or speaking? Taalpunt040 will match you with a helper. Practice step-by-step to gain skills and confidence!
Homewards – discover Eindhoven together
Homewards strengthens social cohesion by focusing on interaction: talking, laughing and discovering together – language follows naturally.
Language coach & Language café Valkenswaard
At the Language Café, you can chat about everyday topics, such as hobbies or health. Or practise with a language coach!
Get a language volunteer with LEV
A language coach helps you to speak and understand Dutch better. You agree together where and when it suits you.
