Regional perspective on international talent

A regional perspective on international talent

To maintain and consolidate our position in the Brainport region, international talent is essential. And not just because of labour market shortages. Collaboration with people from different cultures also strengthens our capacity for innovation, enabling us to work together on the solutions for tomorrow. But how do you attract international talent? How do you retain that talent? And how do you involve local residents in this development and the internationalisation of the region?

To answer these questions, Brainport Development and Holland Expat Center South, together with various other stakeholders, drew up a regional vision for international talent. This vision defines five so-called pillars, all aimed at attracting more workers to the high-tech and manufacturing sectors to meet the growing demand for talent. At Brainport Development, we focus primarily on attracting more international talent, increasing the intake and retention rate of students and graduates in engineering programmes, and ensuring a balance between facilities and the labour market.
