New to the region? Or have you been living here for a while and would like to meet new people? Homewards brings internationals and locals together and helps people feel at home in Brainport.

For employers, Homewards is a valuable addition to onboarding and retention initiatives. People who feel connected to the region are more likely to stay, grow and contribute.

What is Homewards?

Homewards is a social onboarding programme where internationals and locals take part in events, meetups and community activities across Eindhoven and the Brainport region. The programme is all about connection: between people, cultures and the place you call home.

How does it work?

Homewards runs for three months. During that time, you take part in three group events and can join informal meetups organised by the community.

Throughout the programme, you receive weekly tips and inspiration to help you explore the region. You also become part of an active community of more than 120 participants, supported by our community managers.

Along the way, you'll meet new people and discover what Brainport has to offer.

Who is it for?

Whether you've recently moved here, have lived in the region for years, are studying or working here, everyone is welcome. The mix of backgrounds, nationalities and experiences is what makes the programme unique.

Employers, educational institutions and knowledge organisations also use Homewards to help employees and students build a life in the region beyond work or study.

Why join?

Participants say Homewards helps them find their way in Brainport more quickly, build meaningful connections and feel more engaged with their surroundings.

The programme receives an average rating of 9.6, and many participants report feeling a stronger sense of belonging to both the region and the people around them after taking part.

For employers: part of your onboarding

Successful onboarding goes beyond the workplace. Employees who build social connections outside of work settle in more quickly and are more likely to stay in the region long term.

Homewards helps organisations give international employees a soft landing and contributes to engagement, wellbeing and talent retention.
