Rabobank invests in the region. The Netherlands invests in each other.

From Cape Verde to Eindhoven: language as a bridge
‘Language is not only a means of communication, but also a bridge to culture, connection and mutual understanding,’ says Christianny Sousa, Marketing and Communications employee at Rabobank in the Eindhoven region. With roots in Cape Verde, she knows better than anyone how important it is to learn the language of your home country.
‘By speaking the language, I show respect for the country and the people I work with. It opens doors to new opportunities, both professionally and personally.’ At Rabobank, she sees every day how language brings people together. It helps international colleagues feel at home more quickly, make contacts more easily and become more confident in their work and daily lives.

A warm welcome at the counter
Arjan Wolfs, Senior Local Banking Officer at Rabobank, speaks to international customers every day. Refugees, expats, international students – people who want to become customers and often need a little extra support. ‘The way banks work in the Netherlands often differs from that in their country of origin,’ Arjan explains. ‘It's nice to give people a warm welcome and help them get started.’
Talking about money in your own language
Rabobank conducts conversations in Dutch and English. We see and ask customers to bring an interpreter with them more and more often. Because living a financially healthy life starts with (daring to) talk about money – and that works best in a language you really understand.

Globo: connecting with fellow expats
A new start in a new country. A new job, new colleagues, a new culture. Exciting and challenging at the same time. That is why Rabobank invests in a warm and structured onboarding process that not only explains practical matters, but also focuses on culture, language and social integration.
Through Globo, the international employee network, the organisation helps new colleagues find their way and connect with others who have taken the same step. International colleagues bring new perspectives, experiences and ideas that stimulate innovation and enrich the organisation.
Building Brainport together
Whether you have just arrived or have been living here for a while, at Rabobank you can be yourself. Because together they are building a region where everyone counts and participates. A region where language is the bridge between welcome and home.
