We invite you to a unique opportunity to meet Tom Furness, the grandfather of virtual reality (VR) at the High Tech Campus Eindhoven! Tom Furness will share a look at the history of VR, make a bridge to today's opportunities, and then give an outlook to the future. During a panel discussion we wil dive deeper into the immersive technologies and their convergence with other technologies.

Keynote by Tom Furness

Tom Furness will outline the development of virtual reality sharing his own experience of the past, as well as current developments around the spatial web. He will give an outlook on their impact in the future. 

Thomas A. Furness III is an American inventor, professor, and virtual reality pioneer based in Seattle, Washington. He is a Professor in the University of Washington Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering, and the founder of the Human Interface Technology Lab at the University of Washington and its sister labs at the University of Canterbury and University of Tasmania.
 

Thomas A.  Furness is known for his contributions in developing human interface technology, he has earned the title, "Grandfather of Virtual Reality."
