Prof. Dr. Erik R. Ranschaert ETZ AI for Radiology “How disruptive is AI for Radiologists and healthcare in general? (ENG)

Erik Ranschaert completed his medical training at the KU Leuven in Belgium. He was recently appointed as visiting professor at the University of Ghent. He works as a radiologist and digital doctor at the ETZ teaching hospital in Tilburg in the Netherlands, where he’s active in defining a framework for hospital-wide implementation of AI-tools. His research is focusing on AI for radiology, and he’s doing this in collaboration with the TIlburg University (TiU). He fulfilled a leadership role in the e-Healh and Informatics Subcommittee of the European Society of Radiologists (ESR) and is Past-President of the European Society of Medical Imaging Informatics (EuSoMII). He often is an invited speaker at international meetings and he is Co-Editor of the first book about Artificial Intelligence in Radiology, which was published in 2019.
