Route optimization: Theory meets a practical implementation
At Pipple, we believe that if we want to change the world, we need to share our knowledge. That is why we organize fun, inspiring and educational Pipple Tech Talks (formerly Pipple lectures). During these talks, we show how data science can contribute to a better world. We explain the basic concept, so that by the end of the talk you could apply the technology yourself.
On Thursday, February 16, 2023, we will host the Pipple Tech Talk "Route optimization: Theory meets a practical implementation" at our Eindhoven office. Mathijs Waegemakers (Senior Data Scientist Pipple) will tell all about algorithms for route optimization during the Tech Talk.
The talk will start with an overview of common algorithms used by large companies to optimize their routes. During the presentation, Mathijs will share personal anecdotes about what he has encountered at various logistics companies over the past 8 years. Finally, we will dive into the implementation of these algorithms and what it takes in practice for the logistics department to actually apply the algorithms.
