Join our launch event for the roadmap towards sustainable digital infrastructure with integrated photonics
Global data traffic is doubling every two years. As the growth rate is likely to increase further in the future, optical communication and networking technologies are becoming essential to accommodate this growth in an energy-efficient and sustainable manner.
The biggest challenge within this domain is the high energy consumption of data infrastructure. The share of data and internet use is expected to be between 20 and 30% of global power consumption by 2030. This includes energy consumption by end-users on the one hand and data centers on the other. 5G, the Internet of Things, and artificial intelligence will further accelerate this. Photonics provides gains in speed, weight, and energy consumption.
Following the releases of the biosensor and automotive roadmaps, PhotonDelta is excited to announce the upcoming launch event for the data&telecom roadmap.
You’re very welcome to invite a +1 or send this invitation to someone who also might be interested in this inspiring event.
PhotonDelta has recently completed a roadmap for the use of integrated photonics in the data & telecom industry. The roadmap was created together with our ecosystem partners of integrated photonics companies and institutes, as well as with other relevant stakeholders in The Netherlands and abroad, such as datacenters, equipment manufacturers, and government officials. The roadmap provides the guidance to accelerate the present activities towards successful commercial application for a more sustainable digital infrastructure.
The roadmap will be launched through an interactive virtual event on Thursday March the 10th at 15:00 – 16:30 (CET). Registration is mandatory, but free of charge. The event will be held in a hybrid form, which means you can attend physically or virtually through a streaming link.
The event will be broadcasted live from the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. To stay in line with the current covid restrictions, the conference center can only accommodate 75 physical guests. Physical registration is therefore on a first-come, first-serve basis. Physical attendants are required to show proof of vaccination or a recent negative test result.
