Discover Brainport

Brainport Eindhoven is one of Europe’s leading high-tech regions. Here, research, education and industry are deeply interconnected. Our strength lies in advanced manufacturing, systems engineering and the ability to translate technology into real-world applications.

Within our key technologies and markets, companies and knowledge institutes work closely together in consortia, applied research programmes and shared innovation facilities. From semicon and photonics to AI, advanced production technologies and integrated systems, collaboration is embedded in the region’s DNA.

For knowledge and research institutes, Brainport offers a gateway to industry-driven innovation, access to strong innovation clusters and a direct link to talent development within a triple helix ecosystem.

When to visit Brainport

A visit to Brainport is most valuable when there is a clear connection between your institute's focus and our key technologies and markets.

We prioritise institutes that conduct applied or application-oriented research aligned with Brainport’s technology matrix, and that actively collaborate with industry. Complementarity is essential. We look for expertise that strengthens or expands existing innovation clusters within the region.

Your institute is particularly relevant if it participates in international research consortia, EU programmes or strategic partnerships that offer opportunities for joint projects, knowledge exchange or co-development.

From a talent perspective, visits are meaningful when they contribute to strengthening the regional talent pipeline. This may include exchange programmes for students or PhDs, collaboration on curricula aligned with industry needs, or pathways for international students to study, work and remain in the region.

Visits focused purely on fundamental research without a clear link to applied innovation, or outside the scope of Brainport’s key technologies, are typically referred to the appropriate academic partners within the region.
