Eindhoven takes major step towards more student housing

Finding student housing in Eindhoven can be challenging, especially for international students preparing to move to the Netherlands. A new agreement between Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), Fontys University of Applied Sciences, the Municipality of Eindhoven and student housing organisations Vestide and SSH shows that the city is actively working to address this challenge.
The partners have signed a letter of intent to realise 5,400 new student homes across Eindhoven over the next eight years. If completed, it will be one of the largest expansions of student housing in the Netherlands. The goal is to reduce the current housing shortage while supporting the growing number of students choosing to study in the Brainport region.
The plans include around fifteen housing projects spread throughout the city. Several locations have already been identified, including developments near the TU/e campus, Fontys campus Rachelsmolen and Eindhoven Central Station. The national student housing organisation SSH, which already manages more than 19,000 student rooms in other Dutch cities, also plans to expand its activities to Eindhoven.
While housing remains an important topic for current and future students, this new collaboration demonstrates a long-term commitment to creating more affordable student accommodation in Eindhoven. The initiative brings together education institutions, housing providers and local government to help ensure that students can both study and build their future in the region.
Planning your move to Eindhoven?
While these developments are aimed at increasing housing availability in the coming years, students planning to move to Eindhoven should still start their housing search as early as possible.
Both Eindhoven University of Technology and Fontys provide practical information about accommodation options, housing providers and what to expect when looking for a room in the region.
