CPR Proving Testweek

The CCAM Proving Region (CPR) is organising a special Road Readiness Proving Week at the Ford Lommel Proving Ground (LPG) in Belgium from 8 to 11 June 2026. During this week, companies, research institutes and technology partners will have the opportunity to demonstrate that their solutions for Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility (CCAM) are ready to move from the test environment to deployment on public roads. The event focuses on demonstrating that innovative mobility solutions are technically, operationally and procedurally ready for pre-commercial applications and pilots on public roads.

From test track to public road

The aim of the proving week is to demonstrate and document that CCAM solutions are ready to make the transition from closed test environments to practical tests on public roads. The results collected can be used to support licence applications and safety dossiers for future pilot projects.

In addition to solutions that are already close to implementation, parties that are still experimenting or developing new applications, for example in the field of connected vehicles and cooperative automation, are also welcome.

Testing according to the CPR process

During the proving week, activities follow the standard CPR validation process, which consists of three steps:

Simulation
Proving ground tests
Tests on public roads

This approach allows evidence to be gathered in a neutral environment, which is necessary to prepare technologies for larger-scale applications and to build confidence among policymakers and other stakeholders.

What participants demonstrate during the proving week

During the event, participants demonstrate, among other things, that their technology:

Is operationally ready within the intended Operational Design Domain (ODD), including various traffic situations and exceptional circumstances
Complies with external safety and operational requirements, including the safety and site rules of the Ford Lommel Proving Ground
Provides traceable documentation, such as checklists, observation logs and data captures, which can be used for safety arguments and licensing processes

This documentation forms an important basis for subsequent practical tests on public roads.

Selection and preparation

After registration, interested parties will be invited for an intake interview. During this interview, topics such as vehicle technology, the area of application (ODD) and possible test scenarios will be discussed. The standard CPR cooperation contract will also be explained.

The rest of the programme is as follows:

14 May 2026: validation of test plans by the CPR Advisory Board “Tech”
Week 21/22: training for test track drivers (EU-valid test track licence)
Early June: final briefing for all participants
8–11 June 2026: Proving Week at Ford Lommel Proving Ground

Volunteers wanted

In addition to technology partners, CPR is also looking for volunteers who want to contribute to the event. There are various roles available, including:

Track safety stewards and observers
Technical support engineers (sensors, communication/V2X, data logging, vehicle preparation)
Logistics and coordination support
Scenario assistants and spotters
Independent observers for evidence collection and reporting

Participation in the event is free of charge for partners and employees who contribute within the CPR framework. Costs for transport, accommodation and staff deployment are not included.
